Alesis DM 10 Studio Electronic Drum Kit Mesh Heads

  
Hi, this is for my Alesis DM 10 Studio Electronic Drum Kit with Mesh Heads. Its been a great way to start learning the drums without annoying the rest of the household. I quickly found the original pads to be too loud (like someone smacking Tupperware boxes with a wooden spoon) so I converted it to mesh heads with DIY foam triggers. This significantly reduced the acoustic noise the drum pads make in the room (more of a soft boing sound now) and also improves the feel & triggering. I used 2 ply mesh heads to get the balance right between feel and sound reduction. This is a common DIY mod to these kits and newer version of this kit come with mesh heads and foam triggers as standard. The kit configuration is 8 kick, 4 x 8 toms, 10 snare, 12 hats, 2 x 12 crash cymbals, 14 ride. You can assign different sounds to the rims than the heads, you can also choke the main cymbal and the ride has separate bell and bow sounds. Functionally its fully working and cosmetically it has some age related wear and some replacement parts.

These are - some stick wear and fading to the rubber cymbal pads, some scuffs to the frame in a couple of places, a couple of the frame bolts have been replaced, the power supply has been replaced, and one of the drum trigger cables has been replaced with a generic cable. Other than that its all original so far as I know.

Certainly all the clamps / mounts etc are all there and working fine. Also included is a cheap pair of generic headphones that came with a Dawsons Music eDrum starter pack I bought a couple of years back. There is also a pair of used vic firth 5B nylon tipped sticks (nylon is best for preserving the heads), and an old (worn but working) percussion plus century kick pedal with a plastic beater (best beater material to prevent damage to the mesh heads). The only other things youd need to get started are a stool and a drum key - these are not included as I dont have any spares.

All the original (worn but not damaged) Alesis mylar heads are included, as are the foam rings I removed from each drum as part of the DIY trigger conversion. Ive also included some spare trigger foam and 3m sticky pads which is all you need to replace the trigger cones if they ever wear out (they do eventually even on high end kits) without paying silly Roland prices. The mesh conversion I did is a common mod to these kits and is totally non destructive.

All the original parts are here to revert the drums back to their original spec (although I dont know why youd want to do that) and this requires no tools other than a standard drum key (not included) to take the heads off. Lots of info on the web about it. The rubber tom rim mutes are also included (I removed them from the toms as I didnt like the look of them). There is no manual included but its easily obtained in pdf format from the web.
