Roland TD-12 Percussion Sound Module Roland V-Drums Drum Brain. Had been looked after in a studio for 10+ years. I bought it 2nd hand around 2013. It may have gigged prior to that.

Has some minor marks and scratches, mainly on the silver plate around the screen. You can see all of this in the Main Photo. The LCD screen itself has no issues. Text is very clear, no visible fading, the LCD contrast adjustment still works fine.

Had a lot of fun with this module. It's an excellent design and very reliable. Which are included in this sale, as I won't be able to use them anymore. The Roland TD-12 is a well regarded classic Roland drum.

Brain, that was in production from 2005 to 2012. It was released shortly after the flagship Roland TD-20 module was launched and contains most of the same sounds and controls as the TD-20 in a more compact size. Newer drum modules may have more modern connections such as a USB port but the TD-12 still holds up with pro features such as individual trigger inputs, instrument editing and positional sensing.

This drum brain would suit a player who wants to upgrade from a beginners drum module, such as an Alesis Nitro or Roland TD-9 and gain pro features such as positional sensing and better sounds. But doesn't have the budget for a Roland TD27, TD-30 or TD-50x. It's compact size makes it a better choice than the TD-20 for most drummers in my opinion. However, as the quality of drum sounds can be very subjective, I strongly recommend viewing some of the Roland TD-12 demos online. It will however be carefully packed to avoid and damage in transit.

The printed manual isn't original. I printed one out on a laser printer and used a plastic binder. However the print quality is very good, except the front page, which has a few marks. It's highly useful when learning how the module works, as it's quite deep. Unlike newer Roland drum modules, the TD-12 can only communicate with a computer via MIDI.

This means there is no USB port and you will need a MIDI interface for communication. However MIDI to USB interfaces are inexpensive and provide the same experience if you want to trigger VST software such as EZ Drummer. Sale includes the following items.
